Fee changes and corrections
Every fee change, newly priced platform and correction we've recorded, newest first. Each entry links to the page with the current numbers.
Kajabi: Kajabi's pricing page added a launch-kit promotion ("Offer ends Oct 13th"). Its plan prices are unchanged.
Creator payment platforms: Started tracking what Patreon, Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, Whop, Lemon Squeezy and Substack take from a creator's sales, with card processing and payout fees, from each platform's own pages. Buy Me a Coffee contradicts itself on payout countries: its FAQ says 44 and its payout article lists 114; both are stated.
Fee details: Read further fee details from the platforms' own pages: Gumroad's fees and payouts, Stan Store's transaction fee and Stripe rates, Udemy's instructor share (97% of sales through your own link, 37% otherwise), Skool's Hobby and Pro plans, Systeme.io's free plan and LearnWorlds' trial.
Thinkific: Correction: head-to-head pages said Thinkific states no card processing rate. They now quote the US card row of Thinkific Payments.
Circle: Correction: Circle's monthly prices came from hidden page data, but its pricing page has no monthly switch and shows yearly prices only ($89, $199 and $419 a month). Circle is now priced on yearly billing everywhere, which makes Mighty Networks the cheaper of the two in Circle vs Mighty Networks ($79 against $89 a month, billed yearly).
Course platforms: Started tracking what Teachable, Thinkific, Kajabi, Podia, LearnWorlds, Skool, Circle, Stan Store, Gumroad, Payhip, Mighty Networks, Systeme.io and Udemy charge: subscriptions, transaction fees and card processing. Thinkific's US-dollar prices come from its help centre's pricing article, because its pricing page shows euros to European visitors; Stan Store's come from its help centre, because its pricing page was unavailable.
Course Payout: The site went live at coursepayout.com with a take-home calculator for 12 platforms (subscription, transaction fee and card processing on every plan, with course limits, Skool Pro's 3.9% rate on sales above $900 and Gumroad's lower fee after $20,000 of sales in a month), a table of every platform's fees and a Teachable vs Thinkific vs Kajabi comparison.
